These illustrations were mostly guided by something we internally call a "3P". Party, Place, and Peril.

Ideally in these illustrations, all 3 P's are present - though I have explored with the formula over the years.

These works also mark a pretty big shift in my own work, leaning into heavier rendering than I would have done if left to my own devices. Being part of something greater than the sum of it's parts has pushed me artistically in a direction I don't think I would have ever pursued on my own.

Even though I have done a lot of these illustrations, I still feel like I've been playing catchup with myself, and haven't been able to truly focus on growth as a painter - instead, I'm just putting what I am into practice. I can't help but think they could be even more refined... or a bit more loose.

I hope to find some time for artistic reflection - be able to breathe, and refocus on my weaknesses, and maybe eventually get to set off on my own direction again. But with any luck, that won't be anytime soon.
